Main areas in which needs are present and treatment success can be measured are efficacy, tolerability, adherence, response, remission, life engagement, and recovery. Brexpiprazole is an atypical antipsychotic, which acts as a partial agonist on dopamine D2 receptors.

This narrative review will discuss brexpiprazole in the light of measures of treatment success. Specifically, available data on efficacy, tolerability, adherence, and response are explored. Recovery is currently not very well defined and seems hard to achieve for patients with schizophrenia with current treatments. Functional outcomes and life engagement are essential on the way to recovery. Life engagement is discussed in more detail, with an outlook of how this measure may make recovery a more concrete, tenable, and measurable process, potentially employed as an outcome in clinical trials and in clinical care.

2024-05-18T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Current Medical Research and Opinion https://www.cmro.in/index.php/jcmro/article/view/754 The Impact of Exacerbations COPD on Respiratory Function and Quality of Life 2024-04-23T02:15:10+00:00 Nadia Fettal fettaln@yahoo.fr Chaker Mahammedi fettaln@yahoo.fr Djamila Titsaoui fettaln@yahoo.fr
Introduction

Exacerbations of COPD are serious complications occurring at all stages of disease severity. according to COPD severity

Patients and methods

This is a prospective and observational study of a cohort of COPD patients confirmed by spirometry according to GOLD recommendations, in whom the frequency of exacerbations and its impact on respiratory function and quality of life during a period of 3 consecutive years

Results

Our study population is composed mainly of men, one hundred and thirty-two against three women with an average age of 61 years. These are 05% stage I COPD, 63.7% stage II, 27.4% stage III and 03% very severe stage. The average frequency of exacerbations in our COPD patients is 2.41 exacerbations per year and it is closely correlated with the stages of severity of the disease ( p : < 0.05). The mean annual decline in FEV1 in frequent exacerbators is 44.41 mL vs 34.22 mL in subjects with rare exacerbations (T: 2.61, p : 0.008). The quality of life attributed by the CAT questionnaire shows a higher score in subjects with frequent exacerbationscompared to those with little known exacerbations with a significant difference ( p : 0.000).

Conclusion

Exacerbations weigh heavily on the course of the disease: they accelerate the decline in lung function and contribute to the deterioration of quality of life. It is necessary to reduce the frequency and severity of these episodes by smoking cessation and influenza and pneumococcal vaccine therapy.
2024-05-02T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Current Medical Research and Opinion https://www.cmro.in/index.php/jcmro/article/view/759 Health Status among End Stage Kidney Disease on Hemodialysis and non-Hemodialysis Patients in Kirkuk city: Comparative Study 2024-04-28T20:17:58+00:00 Mujda Taha mujdaaltaha@gmail.com abid kumait abid_master2014@uokirkuk.edu.iq
Abstract

Background

Hemodialysis is a treatment for end-stage renal disease (ESRD) in which a machine filters waste and excess fluids from the blood for patients whose kidneys can no longer perform this function on their own. It’s important to train professional and non-professional individuals in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). A variety of ways have been adopted to provide optimal, effective, and attractive CPR teaching.

Objectives: study aims to review studies that compare the effectiveness of different CPR training methods.

Methods: The authors carried out searches on the available databases, such as Google Scholar, Research Gate, Semantic Scholar, Elsiver, and PubMed, and included studies published between the periods 2018 and 2023. The targeted sample of the chosen study was staff of different health fields and students from any category of health-related colleges and institutions. the study should also include a comparison between two or more CPR training methods, 30 studies were included after screening 600 studies, and the data was extracted, categorized, and summarized depending on the PICO model. It is expected that the reason is the small sample of the group that was collected and also may vary across different cultures due to various factors such as cultural norms, dietary habits, and access to healthcare. while relationship between malnutrition and the age of marriage for the mother is highly significant (p: 0.004) this may be attributed to the mother’s marriage at a young age, with a weak body structure that cannot bear carrying a healthy fetus, with the mother’s lack of experience in dealing with her child and taking adequate care of him.
2024-05-10T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ https://www.cmro.in/index.php/jcmro/article/view/777 Assessment of Activity of Daily Livings among Patients with Heart Failure at Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital in Mosul City 2024-05-10T13:14:17+00:00 Ameen Hussein Yousif imadbiotechnology@gmail.com Ameen Hussein Yousif imadbiotechnology@gmail.com Ahmed Mahdi Saleh imadbiotechnology@gmail.com Siddeeq Atiya Islubi imadbiotechnology@gmail.com Dr. Nawaf Mohammed Dhahir submitarticleforpublication7@gmail.com
Background: Chronic disease such as heart failure can contribute to functional disability, which can degrade quality of life by decrease in the ADLs performance.

Objectives of the study: To assess the activity of daily living among patients with heart failure in Ibn Sina teaching hospital in Mosul city as well as to find out the associated between heart failure and activity of daily living.

Methodology: A descriptive quantitative study was conducted in critical care unit in Ibn Sina teaching hospital University From December 2020 to 2021. We present the EPS case of a 39-year-old male who developed a delusional illness four weeks after injectable haloperidol treatment. Inj. promethazine (phenergan) 25 mg over a week was used to treat symptoms such as diminished movement and muscle stiffness. Frequent medical examinations are essential to halting the course of adverse events and improving both the financial and medical results. Accurate diagnosis, medication cessation, risk factor reduction, and supportive care are all part of primary management. Taking into account the EPS propensity of first-generation antipsychotics, some patient characteristics may indicate that second-generation medicines are better. The goal of this strategy is to minimize the EPS burden while optimizing efficacy.
2024-05-15T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Current Medical Research and Opinion
